Who doesn't love them ?!!
( maybe not if you have bunions)
Shoes are such an easy way to update your wardrobe
and you can always get a boost shopping for them, even
when you are bloated or not in the mood to try on clothes :)
The choices this season are amazing and even though I surely
don't need another pair ( It's not about need anyway. It's
about loving fashion), I'm looking at these new and retro
styles for a Spring/Summer update-
Block Heels
What a great alternative to the stiletto, especially for day. Block heels are available in
a variety of heights and work well with jeans, pants, culottes and dresses. They come in
pumps, mules ( making a comeback, if you hadn't noticed, you will) and in sandals and
in styles for day and night. A great nude or neutral and/or black block heel would be a
great wardrobe addition. You'll notice suede is strong for summer.
Bright White Sneakers
Now that our athletic shows come in an array of wild colors, regular sneakers look
fresh again in plain white. You can choose from classics like Converse All Stars or Keds
that have been around forever or try tennis styles like Treetorn,Fred Perry and Addidas
that are having a comeback. Pair them with rolled up boyfriend or girlfriend jeans, shorts
and even summer dresses.
Lace-ups
Laces are big both in clothing, as I've mentioned in an earlier post, and in shoes,
as well. You'll see laces on wedges ( another more comfortable way to wear a
higher heel that is back in style), espadrilles and on sandals. It's a cute and fresh
look. Yep, gladiators are still strong.
Mules and Slides
This style has come and gone more times than I remember. It rates pretty high on the
comfort level and offers a wide variety of renditions and heel heights. It works on a
casual and dressier level, too. Some runway shows referred to it as the "slipper".
The key feature is that it's backless.
Espadrilles and Wedges
What would summer be without these classic summer go-to's? Nothing says summer
more than a rope soled shoe ( except maybe flipflops). So many cute options-
here's a taste
So many choices, in so many different price points- you're bound to find the perfect
little summer shoe to spice things up. Happy shopping!
