Because We love to Look...

Designer gowns, beautiful celebrities, stunning hair and make-up - ah, the red carpet. Who doesn't prefer the "pre-game" show to the often boring awards shows themselves??!!

Most celebrities and/or their stylists make great choices and although they admit it takes them all day to get ready, feed our fantasies for elegance and glamour and encourage our curiousity to follow their lives.

I do find sometimes, as beautiful as the gown or the star may be, sometimes I think the dress is wearing the person instead of the way it's intended.

While it's a very pretty dress at the Golden Globes, it almost overwhelms Claire Danes slender frame. her look at the SAG awards is much more flattering.

Lupita Nyong'o seems to be able to always pull off lots of color and bold designs- not for everyone but wonderful on her!

Is it me or does the usually elegant Jennifer Aniston look frumpy here at the Globes? She surely changed it up at the SAG awards in vintage Dior-
flagrantly but glamorously sexy.

Keira Knightly looking like Little Bo Peep at the Golden Globes and a lovely, elegant pregnant actress at the SAGS

Some more misses-
Jemima Kirke in Rosie Assoulin. Photo: Frazer Harrison/Getty ImagesIs this a gown or a costume?
and the color does nothing for                                                              Jemima Kirke's pale skin

Julianna Margulies in Giambattista Valli. Photo: Kevork Djansezian/Getty ImagesJulianna could use a bra and a sleeker look around the hips ( she's thin and this makes her look heavier in the hips)- though great color, she looks best in form fitting styles
Rashida Jones in Ungaro. Photo: Ethan Miller/Getty ImagesRashida Jones is too cute to wear                                                      this big dress that looks like curtains
Chrissy Teigen  Chrissy Teigen is usually spot on-
but this look is a little too flagrant and kind of a sexy bathrobe-
classy and sexy works better at the Globes below

Zoisa Mamet is young and fun and this dress is not! It's an unflattering color, frumpy and too much dress for her.

So the take-away is to get to know your body type, what flatters you most in style and color. Being confident and comfortable
are important also. When you feel good in your clothes you project confidence and confidence is beautiful. More- more fabric, more beading, more money- doesn't necessarily mean better.

One more red carpet to look forward to- the Emmys
You can be sure there'll always be some perfection and some
"what were they thinking?!!" moments. Share your thoughts...

On another note- this Stuart Weitzman "NUDIST" sandal
is the "it' shoe for Spring and summer. All the stars are wearing it for evening, cocktail, day dresses and even with jeans. You saw it on the red carpets in silver and red. It comes in many colors and if you can wear the 4 1/2 " heel -it is crazy sexy!

Sorry for the lengthy absence from writing. Am getting back to it with the awards shows
because it's fun for those of us who live in workout clothes or jeans and T's to critique the
celebs and their haute couture
If you could have any dress, which would it be?
If you could look like any star who would it be?
Next up for those of us living in the real world- Spring fashions
you'll want to update with this year.
