Purchase Pink for the Cure

October is National Breast Cancer Month
As many of you know, I am a big supporter of increasing awareness and  supporting research for a cure. My mother was a survivor for several years but ultimately it came back to take her. One in eight women are diagnosed with breast cancer and while great strides have been made, there is still no cure.
Each year at this time I try to find some way for you to support this cause and feel "pretty in pink" while doing so. I urge you also to get involved with a walk or run or bike ride or any event to support this cause.

Think Pink: Breast Cancer Awareness Events in Tampa

The Breast Cancer Site

I get a reminder in my emails from this site every day. It's a simple thing you can do to help women in need of mammograms.
Greater Good  turns the clicks in a box on this site to funds from sponsors to provide the support for mammograms. You can shop for the cure on the site and read stories from survivors and families.
check it out here- thebreastcancersite.greatergood.com/clicktogive/bcs/home

                                                                                            Brandon Maxwell

There were many more excellent and elegant choices,
but those above were dresses that I think my friends and
I could really wear to a black tie event ( especially if
 Magali made us a copy!)

My not so favorites-
Emily Blunt at the 2018 Oscars  Emily Blunt in Schiaparelli - too sweet
Maya Rudolph at the 2018 Oscars Maya Rudolph in a big smock
Allison Janney at the 2018 Oscars  Alison Janney in Reem Acra
                                                                          love the dress-
but the sleeves are too much
Tiffany Haddish at the 2018 Oscars Tiffany Haddish- going to the
                                                                                             Renaissance Faire?

Salma Hayek at the 2018 Oscars Salma Hayek ( or is it Frida Kahlo?)
                                                                                           in Gucci
Whoopi Goldberg Whoopie Goldberg in upholstery?

And I liked -
Rita Moreno at the 2018 Oscars  Rita Moreno recycling her gown from
the 1962 Oscars when she won for Anita
in West Side Story- still fitting 50 years later!

Jane Fonda at the 2018 Oscars  Jane Fonda looking more like a
a glamorous icon than the Barbie doll she looked
                                                                                    like last year
Viola Davis at the 2018 Oscars  Viola Davis in Michael Kors
She looks great, just too neon bright for me

What did you think? I feel like the gowns brought
the excitement to a show that was otherwise rather
slow tonight. Post your favs below :)
